Lunar New Year
To our Brethren and friends celebrating the Chinese New Year,
As we welcome the Year of the Fire Horse, I extend my warmest wishes to all who observe this ancient and joyous celebration. The Lunar New Year is a time of renewal, reflection, and hope—a moment to honor heritage, family, and the enduring values that bind communities together.
The Horse, in the Chinese zodiac, symbolizes strength, vitality, determination, and forward momentum. When joined with the element of Fire, it reflects passion, courage, and transformative energy. Together, they represent bold action guided by purpose—an aspiration that resonates deeply with the principles of Freemasonry.
As Masons, we are taught to move forward with integrity, to labor with zeal in the quarries of life, and to carry the light of brotherhood into a world that so greatly needs it. The spirit of the Fire Horse reminds us to pursue progress with wisdom, to embrace renewal with confidence, and to act with both conviction and compassion.
May this New Year bring prosperity, health, harmony, and opportunity to you and your families. May it inspire us all to think boldly, act justly, and strengthen the bonds of Brotherhood that unite us beyond geography, culture, and tradition.
On behalf of the Grand Lodge of New York, I wish you a happy, prosperous, and fulfilling Year of the Fire Horse.
With kind brotherly love, I remain,
Steven Adam Rubin
Grand Master
