What is a Lodge of Research?

A Lodge of Research is a gathering of Masons who explore how the virtues, values, and lessons of traditional Freemasonry can come to life through action in the modern day. As students and scholars of the oldest fraternity in the world, Brothers come together to conduct research, study historical documents, and sometimes even publish their findings for future generations. All Lodges of Research require a charter from a Grand Lodge and restrict membership to Master Masons within the jurisdiction of the lodge in which the research is conducted.
