We have warm and fraternal relations with the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of New York. Our Grand Masters have visited each other’s Grand Lodges and constituent Lodges since mutual recognition was established in 2001. It was in 2002 that MW Carl J. Smith (GLNY) and MW Daniel Simmons (MWPHGLNY) first met in a tiled lodge.

Many of our Lodges meet together regularly in tiled meetings, for degree work and education.

You are strongly encouraged by our Grand Master to reach out to your local Prince Hall Lodge and extend the hand of Brotherly love and friendship.

Q. Does MWPHGLNY have a web site?

Q. Do I need a dues card?
A. Yes.

Q. What should I wear?
A. Dark suit (black preferred), white shirt, dark tie (black preferred), white gloves. Aprons are supplied or you may bring your own.

Q. Do I need permission from the Grand Master?
A. Not usually. If you are traveling with a large delegation, you should notify your DDGM who will inquire of the Grand Master.

Q. Can I join their Lodge? Can a Prince Hall Brother join my Lodge?
A. The GLNY has no prohibitions of dual membership. However the MWPHGLNY has its own Constitutional prohibition of dual memberships. However, a Brother may dimit from his own Lodge to join the other Lodge.
