The idea for the “Masonic Lodges on the Air” grew out of the realization that many Freemasons have a love for Amateur Radio. Therefore, a new contest was started to see how many Masonic Lodges could be contacted in one day.
Masons in the NY/NJ area will be setting up stations at the historic museum grounds of The DeWint House “George Washington’s Headquarters” in Tappan, NY, owned and operated by the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York. ALL ARE WELCOME!
We will be using the call sign W2QX for this event thanks to the NJMARC. We will start setting up at 9:00 am ET and leave by 7:00 pm ET
on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
Address: 20 Livingston St, Tappan, NY 10983
(less than 1 mile from NJ boarder)
Talk in frequency on NJ2BS repeater at 146.835 (-.600) PL 151.4
To promote public awareness of Ham Radio and Freemasonry to ALL. To promote fraternal bonds within the ranks of Free & Accepted Masonic Lodges and its many Amateur Radio operators, and to encourage contact with all other Amateur Radio Operators around the state, country, and world. ALL attending licensed or not, Mason or not, will have a chance to make radio contact with the help of a licensed radio control operator.
To have competing stations operating from as many of Masonic Locations as possible. Making contacts from a Masonic Lodge to other Masonic Lodges is the goal all stations should strive for. Note: Stations not located at Masonic Locations may only contact stations operating from a Masonic Location.
